When I click the Windows Key, also called "Start Key" (the window icon on the left-bottom corner), a long list of apps shows up. Sometimes I uninstall software, say, ANSYS license manager, which must be done by hand, and the links in the start menu remain. This is how to get rid of them:
press Windows key + R
type %ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
Windows Explorer shows you the \Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
Delete what you want
To uninstall ANSYS license manager:
Windows Key > cmd > right click > run as administrator, then type these commands:
"C:\Program Files\Ansys Inc\Shared Files\Licensing\winx64\ansysli_server" -k stop
"C:\Program Files\Ansys Inc\Shared Files\Licensing\winx64\ansysli_server" -k uninstall
sc stop ANSYSLicensingTomcat
sc delete ANSYSLicensingTomcat
Then, to unclutter your computer and save space, you can delete the folder C:\Program Files\Ansys Inc
But the entries on the "Start Menu" remain.
